RUGGAARD, Kevin J. age 52, passed away May 20, at OSU Medical Center following complications from a surgery to treat a very rare bone cancer. He was diagnosed in March of this year and until that time enjoyed being a family man, spoiling stray cats, and on occasion hitting a long drive on the golf course into the wrong fairway. He was born on February 21, 1959 in Chicago, IL to Knute and Rita (Knitter) Ruggaard. He graduated from Loyola Academy in Chicago. He also was an Eagle Scout. He graduated with a B.A. from Drake University in 1981. Kevin moved to Oxford in 1983 to open Skipper's Pub with his co-owners. In 1986 he met his future wife Julie and they married in 1990. He began working for Dickerson Distributing in 1997 and was employed there as a successful sales manager until his untimely death. Kevin was extremely proud of his Danish heritage and visited Denmark several times, having the pleasure of showing his children the birthplace of his father, who preceded him in death 5 years ago. Kevin is survived by his mother Rita who is now retired in Arizona, his wife Julie Campbell-Ruggaard, his children Jonathan and Karen Ruggaard; brothers Knute (Stacey) Ruggaard, Randy (Margie) Ruggaard; nieces and nephews; Kelsey, Kyle, Ryan and Erik. In addition, countless friends and co-workers also will miss his generous, larger than life spirit
